Redeemer has released a lyric video for the title track from their upcoming album ‘Dead Weight’, which can be seen at http://youtu.be/OtxkAD2IB1g. The album was recorded with producer Jay Maas (Defeater, Verse) at Getaway Recording Studio in Wakefield, MA.
“We decided to record with Jay because we knew what he’s recorded in the past. Finding an engineer that has recorded some of the arguably key bands in our genre was huge for us,” explained the band. “The recording process was amazing. From the first day, we felt at home. Jay’s input and knowledge was a breath of fresh air and we could tell he wanted this album to sound as good as we did. We wouldn’t change a thing about the recording experience.”
The band elaborated more on ‘Dead Weight’, explaining; “the album is a collection of songs about the trials and burdens that we as a band have individually and collectively experienced. ‘Dead Weight’ refers to the weight of burned bridges, as well as the overbearing sinking feeling coming from a broken home in a broken society.”
“This album is possibly the darkest and most personal material we’ve written to convey that life is not all hallmark cards and happy times, but you’re not in this alone. We were able to write an entire album that is front-to-back, about everything good and bad that makes and molds us as people. The song Dead Weight addresses that sinking feeling; that deafening silence and miserable feeling of disconnection we all feel at times. Suffer to survive.”
‘Dead Weight’ will hit stores this winter on Mediaskare Records.
